Sample Blog: The Future of the NHL

Over the past couple decades, we have seen a lot of new changes throughout the National Hockey League. For example, the power of youth and depth in an organization is a key part to becoming a contender nowadays, as of in the past, they focused more on the strength of the veteran presence. Most of these changes have been good, and turned out to have a positive result, as of others, have actually drastically involved specific teams, fans, and the NHL itself in negative financial and possession difficulties and struggles. Though despite the ownership controversy and revenue conflicts widespread throughout the league, I feel that the NHL has taken a step in the right direction, and that the only way we can go from here on out is up.
Some certain aspects of the game I believe that the future will have an effect on is the amount of speed and scoring we will see increasing over the years, whether or not Commissioner Gary Bettman and his staff decide to make the technical changes (such as making nets bigger) may help the likelihood of this happening, but I think that either way, it will naturally become more of a common entity to the game, which is exciting news for fans.
As far as the business side of hockey, I believe that it may take a lot of hard work, compromises as well as upgrades, and a bit of time before we can successfully work out the financial and ownership problems we face today. Due to the current state of the economy, this is by far going to be the most difficult change we will have to force ourselves to endure in the years approaching, but just may be the most satisfying to accomplish once we are ready to do so.
As fans, all we can do is sit and watch, as the big names and big businesses work the hardest they can to make our beloved sport the best it can be. The big question is, what will these changes be, and how will it make the game that we adore so much today even better than the way it is now? Like I said, all we can do is wait and see what is in store for us, I'm looking forward to the road we will travel down to be able to achieve our desires, are you?
